ijazaa

Your guide to Ijazaa.

Everything you need to understand how Ijazaa works — in plain English, no jargon.

What is Ijazaa?

Ijazaa is one place for every approval your business runs on. Your team submits requests — time off, expenses, equipment, or access — and each one is routed to the right person to approve. Everyone can see the status at a glance, and every decision is kept on record automatically. It's built for UAE small businesses and works in any browser, on desktop or phone.

The 3-step idea

A request raised, routed to an approver, and tracked to the finish — here's the journey every request takes.

Draft

You started it

Pending

Waiting for approval

Approved

Approved — almost done

Fulfilled

Done / paid out

from Pendinga request can also:

Info requested

An approver asked you for more — reply and it goes back to Pending

Rejected

An approver said no

Cancelled

You called it off before it finished

Roles overview

Three roles, each building on the one before it.

  • Track your requests and get notified at every step

Manager

+ adds to Member

  • Approve, reject, or ask for more info
  • Mark requests as done (fulfilled / reimbursed)
  • Invite teammates (members & managers)

Admin

+ adds to Manager

  • Manage people and their roles
  • Decide who approves what (approver routing)
  • Set who reports to whom

Step-by-step tutorials

The everyday tasks, broken down. Some are only relevant once you're a manager or admin.

Submit a request

  1. 1In the top menu, pick the kind of request you need: Time Off, Expenses, Equipment, or Access.
  2. 2Click New request.
  3. 3Fill in the short form (for example: the dates you want off, or the amount you spent).
  4. 4Click Submit.
  5. 5That's it — your request is now waiting for approval. You'll get a notification (the bell, top right) the moment there's an update.

Tip: A saved-but-not-sent request shows as Draft — open it and click Submit to send it.

Approve a request

  1. 1Click Approvals in the top menu — it shows a number when something needs you.
  2. 2You'll see everything waiting for your decision, across every request type.
  3. 3Open one to see the details, or act right from the list.
  4. 4Click Approve, Reject, or Ask for more info (add a note to say what you need).
  5. 5Done — the person who asked is notified automatically.

Tip: After approval, some requests have one more step: click Mark as fulfilled (or Mark as reimbursed for expenses) once you've actually handed over the laptop, granted the access, or paid the expense.

Set up your team & approvers

  1. 1Click Team → type a teammate's email, choose their role (Member, Manager, or Admin), and click Invite.
  2. 2Copy the invite link and send it to them (email or WhatsApp). They sign in and they're in.
  3. 3(Optional) Set who reports to whom using the Reports to column — this lets approvals go to a person's own manager.
  4. 4Want a specific approval flow? Go to Settings → Approver routing. By default, managers and admins approve everything — you only need this if you want something different.
  5. 5You're set. Your team can start sending requests right away.

Questions & answers

Basics

What happens after I submit a request?

It goes to the right approver. You can watch its progress on the request page and you'll be notified at each step.

What does "Draft" mean?

A request you started but haven't sent yet. Open it and click Submit.

What does "Fulfilled" / "Reimbursed" mean?

The final step after approval — the laptop was handed over, the access was granted, or the expense was paid.

Approvals & routing

Who approves my request?

By default, your managers and admins. An admin can change this per request type in Settings.

Why was my request "auto-approved"?

No approver was needed (e.g. you're the only admin), so it was approved automatically. This is normal.

Multi-step approval chainsAdvanced

You can require several people to approve in order — e.g. manager first, then finance. Admins set this in Settings → Approver routing; each step clears before the next begins.

"Manager of requester" routingAdvanced

Send each request to the submitter's own manager. Set who reports to whom on the Team page, then choose this option in routing. If someone has no manager set, it falls back to managers and admins.

Approver routing precedenceAdvanced

A per-type rule beats the org-wide default, which beats the built-in default (managers and admins).

Roles & team

Roles & PIIAdvanced

Managers and admins can see sensitive team fields (employment start date, job title, nationality); members cannot.

For UAE businesses

Can I do this on my phone?

Expenses: do I need to attach a receipt?
